Job Title: Teacher, TOSA All Nations Coordinator - South High and Requisition ID number: 96307 Close Date: No established closing date; open until filled Organizational Unit: South High () Site: South (0362) FTE: 1.0 FTE; 39 weeks; this is based on full-time equivalency with 1.0 being full time Union: Teachers(04) Functional Area: Teaching Resume and Cover Letter are mandatory to apply for any position. ESSENTIAL FUNCTION The All-Nations Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA), Coordinator performs organizational and management tasks that support the efforts of the All-Nations teachers and general programming. SUMMARY The All-Nations Coordinator duties and responsibilities include: Daily: Deliver targeted interventions for students who need additional academic, socioemotional, or engagement support. Partner with families to engage students in school and in creating/implementing plans of support. Coordinate after school enrichment programming and activities, including culturally specific activities and opportunities. Assist community partners in their delivery of interventions, e.g., Provide required data, coordinate meeting spaces, etc. Consult and coach program staff in having a 'dual agenda' throughout all school-based instruction, having an academic learning goal as well as a learning loss goal Weekly: Regularly attend the following meetings to ensure interventions are aligned to the needs of students and school. Weekly check-ins w/ administration Coaches Cabinet meetings, meetings related to the All-Nations program, Bi-weekly ILT meetings. Use data to identify which students are in need of additional academic, engagement, or SEL support and deliver/coordinate the supports as needed. Use data to determine if additional supports and interventions are effective for individual students, or if changes to interventions are needed. Regularly communicate and collaborate with teachers and staff who are working with students receiving additional supports Quarterly/Semester: Attend MUID/PIE meetings Lead the effort to create more effective programming that attends to learning loss recovery Advise Principal and admin team Coach teachers and community partners who are also delivering interventions in best practices for Native youth. Duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS Valid Minnesota Teaching License EXPERIENCE Providing indigenous and equity minded professional development, coaching, feedback, and support for teachers. Demonstrated effective collaboration, consultation, co-teaching, modeling and coaching skills in working with adults. Building indigenous cultural awareness, developed cultural knowledge of the particular community served. Ability to adapt individual interventions, programs, and policies to fit the cultural context of the individual, family, or community. Final candidates may be invited to interview with a committee. Final appointment to this position will be contingent upon passing a criminal background check.
