HOW YOU WILL DO IT The Life Sciences Technology Manager will be a technical contributor to Plexus' drive to develop Life Sciences business and execute industry-leading Life Sciences programs for global customers. In this role, the Life Sciences Technology Manager will be an integral member of the Life Sciences Engineering team, working with customers, Plexus business development and product development engineering to achieve significant gains in Life Sciences business and high levels of customer satisfaction. This challenging and rewarding role includes the following elements: Serve as a life science technology, applications and product development subject matter expert. Contribute to the definition of the strategy for the Life Sciences business, including internal initiatives and external activities focusing on the technology and life sciences specific elements. Inform customer concept and technology selection along with development, and aid Plexus' product development engineering services and manufacturing to comprehensively understand client's needs. Assist internal teams in the creation of compelling and customer-aligned project proposals. Monitor, understand and effectively communicate life sciences market needs and trends. Support the execution of internal life science projects. Contribute to promotional and branding efforts in the life sciences space. Additional duties as assigned. The successful candidate's experience, skills and abilities will include: Product Development experience in molecular diagnostic equipment and/or instruments, and thorough understanding of the supply chain and related costs. Understanding of general technical and specific engineering issues related to the life sciences market, especially as they relate to instrument development. Familiarity with systems development with considerations for optics, fluidics, thermodynamics, and/or human factors. Comfortable with common molecular biology concepts and laboratory parlance, able to facilitate communication between product development engineering and scientific customers. Proven skills in customer and internal communication of complex technical concepts. Demonstrated ability to collaborate, influence teams, and build relationships. Experience and understanding of common molecular biology workflows. Ability to understand and analyze instrument-to-consumables interface considerations. Strong decision making & problem solving abilities. Education/Experience Qualifications: A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a life science related field is required; A minimum of five (5) years of related professional experience is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key job accountabilities will be considered.
