Payroll Tax Compliance Analyst

What you will do

The Payroll Tax Compliance Analyst will serve as the internal subject matter expert (SME) for U.S. and Canada payroll taxes. This position will work closely with other team members within the Payroll Tax Compliance team for researching regulatory requirements, creating payroll tax reports/documentation, and assisting employees with tax questions.

The Payroll Tax Compliance Analyst will audit employee payroll tax data, create tax templates for upload to our payroll system and investigate agency inquiries. The Payroll Tax Compliance Analyst will be involved with reoccurring tasks for periodic, monthly, quarterly, and annual deadlines. This position will be involved with funding, tax filing and reconciliation of the tax accounts as well as ongoing projects. Also, this position will work closely with several cross-functional business partners and our payroll tax vendor to ensure payroll taxes are reported timely and accurately in the most efficient way possible in multiple states and provinces. This position will be a hands-on strategic thinker and team player with demonstrated ability to identify and drive process improvement opportunities.

How you will do it

??? Ensure accurate / quality control, efficient and timely preparation, and submittal of payroll tax filings, research agency inquiries with our 3rd party payroll vendor
??? Perform periodic audits, as well as organizing and maintaining tax records to ensure compliance.
??? Correct reconciliation errors where needed and work with 3rd party vendor to prepare/file amended returns as necessary.
??? Reconcile, research, and respond to Federal, State, Local and provincial tax agency tax notices working with 3rd party vendor
??? Works on special projects as required, including internal and external audits, quarterly and annual reporting/issuance of forms.
??? Supporting and producing necessary payroll tax details for various internal and external requests i.e. Dept. of Labor Reporting, Multiple Worksite Reporting, Bureau of Labor Statistics, State Occupational requests, Puerto Rico reporting, Canada Revenue reporting
??? Ensure documentation of Payroll Tax SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) are maintained and updated as necessary
??? Collaborates with payroll team to resolve employee inquiries/cases within the Service Leave Agreement timeframe
??? Process Stock Options in a timely manner
??? Works with Global Mobility team and process transactions for Expats, Inpats and Business Travelers
??? Works with Finance for General Ledger reconciliation.
??? Collectively collaborates with team to proactively monitor internal controls to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely tax filing & reporting to government authorities
??? Proactively audits and validates payroll tax filings / reports submitted by our 3rd party service provider
??? Reviews & confirms that all payroll tax deposits are accurate and executed on-time to eliminate any late filing penalties
??? Assists with quarterly and annual audit engagements with Internal & External Auditors. Ensures informational requests are documented, information is provided and that any issues are clearly identified and resolved

What we look for
Required

??? Degree in business related discipline (Business, Accounting, Finance, HR, etc), or the equivalent of combination of education and work experience
??? Minimum of 2 years hands on experience in US and/or Canada Payroll Tax
??? Strong knowledge of payroll policies, procedures, regulations, and systems for payroll/tax reporting
??? Creative analytical and problem-solving experience
??? Optional: Experience working the ADP Smart Compliance
??? Experience with researching and filing tax notices
??? Experience with multi-state tax processing and filings.
??? Strong organizational skills
??? Ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines
??? Ability to work independently as well within a team.
??? Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
??? Experience in Microsoft Office suite applications
??? Ability to maintain confidentiality
??? Must be a customer-focused, self-driven, results-oriented individual with an emphasis on quality, detail, and accuracy
??? Where legally permissible, if hired, candidate is required to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 no later than his/her start date, unless candidate has a valid medical condition or sincerely held religious belief precluding, he/she from receiving the vaccine.
