Position Summary:
The Branch Services Specialist is responsible for the management of the Branch's systems and processes, as well as the creation of all related training materials and courses. Branch Services Specialists are a resource for customer facing staff with questions on account opening and ongoing servicing. This role ensures that our daily branch processes and ongoing servicing are documented and compliant.

Essential Responsibilities:
Job Function 1: Retail Branch Support & Process Administration - 50%
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of Alerus branch processes, products and services.
  • Proactively manage retail banking systems.
  • Document and maintain R&R procedures for the retail bank systems.
  • Manage ATM/ITM implementations and ongoing support and problem resolution.
  • Coordinate and assist in the review, testing, and implementation of system updates and upgrades.
  • Conduct reporting & data analysis on branch and digital channel activity.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance system utilization and process efficiency.
  • Ensure branch processes, particularly those pertaining to regularly-required audits, are adhered to in the branches; conduct spot-checks to ensure completion.
  • Conduct period training on audit procedures and IRAs for retail staff.
  • Be a subject matter expert to retail staff for all Deposit inquires.
  • Responsible for Coin & Currency handling for the Bank.
  • Responsible for Deposit Account Opening processes & procedures.

Job Function 2: Project Management & Participation - 25%
  • Strive to gain efficiencies in processes to create a better client experience.
  • Support projects that involve any branch related systems or process changes. Assist in new systems implementation aimed to advancing technology in the branches.
  • Assist in any Bank Acquisitions . Participating in any planning, with regard to the conversion of the branches. If needed assist in explaining and implementing Alerus policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with other departments as necessary to implement necessary changes

Job Function 3: Audit and Compliance - 25%
  • Ensure that branch staff understands and is following all documented bank audit and compliance functions.
  • Represent branch services in annual audit functions and respond to any issues identified.
  • Provide training as needed to branch staff to ensure ongoing compliance with all banking rules and regulations.
  • Understand and apply business and banking industry practices and compliance changes.
  • Assure compliance with all Bank policies and procedures, as well as all applicable state and federal banking regulations.

Position Requirements:
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in education, business, or communication, or equivalent experience.
  • Two or more years of experience in training curriculum development and delivery preferred.
  • Minimum two years of experience in the financial services industry.
  • Dedication to service excellence with two years of demonstrated customer service experience.
  • Demonstrated communication and education skills.
  • Ability to motivate and coach individuals.
  • Ability to manage time, organize and prioritize duties.
  • Basic math proficiency and aptitude.
  • Proven track record of work stability.
  • Dedicated and satisfactory attendance and punctuality.

Physical Demands - Must be met with or without a reasonable accommodation:
  • Extended periods of time sitting at a desk and using office equipment.
  • Ability to operate a personal computer/laptop for approximately 8 hours per day.
  • Extended time is spent reviewing physical and electronic documents.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
  • Periodically, may also do light lifting of supplies and materials which weighs in at approximately 20 lbs.
  • Will spend most of time in an indoor environment.
  • Periodic overnight travel may be required to support training and branch operations.
