About these roles:

The Veteran Employment Transition (VET) Program is a nationwide 8-week Spring and Fall internship that converts directly to a full-time opportunity based on performance. We are hiring a class of 45 - 55 interns to begin on April 17, 2023 starting with an intensive training and orientation led by professional instructors and senior Wells Fargo employees. You will network with your peers and Wells Fargo leaders while developing your skills and knowledge of our financial products and services before joining a team of experienced Wells Fargo employees for on-the-job training and development. If you are a problem-solver who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, working hard to achieve a goal, learning new things, and improving yourself, this program might be a good fit for you. In addition, successful candidates are team-players who work well in a collaborative environment and have strong situational analysis skills. All ranks are encouraged to apply as we are hiring at multiple levels. This program is NOT DOD SkillBridge eligible as it's a Wells Fargo paid internship.

Program Expectations:
  • Must be able to start April 17, 2023 and attend full duration of 8-week internship program
  • Must be off active duty no later than April 16, 2023. (Only exceptions: terminal leave and/or traditional Guard or Reserve status, these are eligible)

Program Required Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of work experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • Service in any branch of the United States military
  • Able to work on the first day of the program, April 17, 2023
In these roles you will:

The Risk & Control Management Group has Risk Specialist opportunities within Compliance Risk, Independent Testing & Validation, Operational Risk Management, Strategic Enterprise Risk Management, and Consumer Lending.

Risk Specialist (Available locations: Charlotte, NC; Dallas, TX; Des Moines, IA; Fort Mill, SC; Minneapolis, MN; Phoenix, AZ; St. Louis, MO; Tempe, AZ)
  • Develop, maintain, and ensure adherence to enterprise-wide risk frameworks, policies, and procedures that are aligned with Board-approved risk appetite statements
  • Ensure consistent oversight and participation in new business initiative activities including risk reviews, credible challenge, and recommendations
  • Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of metric and monitoring policies, procedures, processes, systems, testing, and internal controls
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues
  • Participate in less complex development and design of methodologies and standards for review activities companywide in alignment with the risk management framework
  • Support and implement less complex initiatives with low to moderate risk and exercise independent judgment to guide risk reporting, escalation, and resolution
Desired Qualifications:
  • Proven experience working in a risk, compliance, audit, or governance role
  • Proven experience quantifying and assessing risks, developing alternative solutions, and translating information into a concise, meaningful summary for multiple audiences
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience using Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Demonstrated interest/experience in manipulating data and reporting, data visualization, and/or data analytics
  • Compile risk reporting, performs research and delivers reporting
  • Strong analytic and/or process skills including manipulating data
  • Ability to identify issues, risk and escalate to the appropriate party
  • Self-motivated and able to adapt to dynamic work environment with multiple priorities and strict timeliness
  • Proven experience in building partnerships, collaborating, and influencing at senior levels and across lines of business as well as with corporate partners

Job Expectations:
  • Corporate Risk is adhering to the Wells Fargo Return To Office (RTO) stipulations which require Corporate Risk employees to work in an approved core location, 3 days a week
The Chief Operating Office (COO) has opportunities in Control Management.

Senior Control Management Specialist (Available locations: Charlotte, NC)
  • Participate in identifying, assessing, managing, and mitigating current and emerging risk exposures within Control Management functional area
  • Provide risk management consulting to support the business in designing and implementing risk mitigation strategies, business processes, and business controls
  • Monitor moderately complex business specific programs and provide risk management consulting to support the business in designing and implementing risk mitigation strategies
  • Monitor, measure, evaluate, and report on the impact of decisions and controls to the relevant business group or functional area
  • Provide guidance to business groups on the development, implementation, and monitoring of business specific programs to identify, assess, and mitigate risk
  • Collaborate with relevant business group to identify current and emerging risks associated with business activities and operations
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures, processes, initiatives, products, and internal controls
  • Financial services, Control, Compliance and/or Risk experience
  • Experience reviewing testing strategies and methodologies; evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures, processes, initiatives, products, and internal controls; and identifying issues resulting from internal and/or external compliance examinations
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PPT, Visio)
  • Knowledge and understanding of banking: regulations, compliance, policies, process, and procedures
  • Outstanding problem solving and analytical skills with ability to turn findings into strategic imperatives
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to prepare and present senior level communications
  • Ability to execute in a fast paced, high demand, environment while balancing multiple priorities
  • Ability to work closely with each of the product business leaders to promote a strong risk culture to ensure effective communication and collaborative partnerships.
  • Ability to make timely and independent judgment decisions while working in a fast-paced and results-driven environment
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important
