Job DescriptionAmeriprise Financial has an exciting opportunity for an Employee Relations Policy & Severance Manager position! This role would provide program management support to the Employee Relations team and contribute to key projects as a representative for Employee Relations. The individual would be responsible for developing, communicating, managing, and maintaining all human resources policies for the company. Accountable for partnering with all other areas of the organization to ensure business-owned policies are aligned with company policy and employment law. Manage the execution of the company severance plan to ensure accurate documentation of reductions in force and timely payment of severance pay benefits.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for developing, communicating, and maintaining all human resources policies for the company. Partner with business owners to ensure policies meet company requirements and federal/state employment laws. Lead the global policy review process to ensure policies remain relevant. Advise with Employee Relations, HR Business Partners, and other HR team members by interpreting policies. Research best practices, evaluate policy development needs, and document and communicate new policies as required (including business-specific policies if warranted).Manage the execution of the company severance plan. Review, create, and maintain accurate documentation of reductions in force and partner with other areas of HR to ensure timely payment of severance pay benefits. Continually assess potential bottlenecks and proactively address any issues or concerns. Use technical knowledge, influence, resourcefulness and initiative to identify and implement process improvement opportunities to resolve issues and improve the execution of the program plan.Serve as the subject matter expert for the Employee Relations case management database. Gather information and analyze technical issues within the case management database, assess business needs, and proactively propose and implement improvements to increase efficiency. Provide ongoing reporting and analysis on key metrics to regularly track volumes and proactively monitor trends.Lead or contribute to special projects and process improvement initiatives such as: training the business on key policies, implementing new programs or initiatives Required QualificationsBachelor's Degree or equivalent5+ years of demonstrable experienceStrong collaboration skills and the ability to work on a cross functional team.Ability to lead, build, influence and maintain positive relationships with key business partners.Excellent writing skills that clearly and consistently communicate information to large audience of employees efficiently and effectively.Highly organized with good project management skills to manage processes end-to-end.Ability to shift priorities/responsibilities to meet the needs of the business.Ability to analyze, interpret, and communicate data and trends.Previous Human Resources, Employee Relations, or HR Compliance experience.Preferred QualificationsExperience in Financial Services.Understanding of general employment law practices.About Our CompanyAt Ameriprise Financial, we're not just in the business of helping clients with their financial goals - we also help our advisors and employees reach their true potential by embracing an inclusive and collaborative culture.
