L&S Electric is seeking an Maintenance Technician. We are looking for a self-motivated team player that has strong communication skills, excellent organizational skills, who likes to work with their hands, and has the ability to multitask and work independently. Interested, though uncertain if you have the skills? L&S is willing to train new employees!

We also offer a $2.00/hour, 2nd shift premium, Monday - Friday 2pm - 10pm!

Job Summary:

You will be responsible for installing and repairing industrial and production machinery. This is a mid-level position with exposure to HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems. Perform maintenance and or repair of shop or building equipment in accordance with the Operations Manager's priorities while conforming with all applicable environment and safety requirements.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure correct and safe operation of equipment and machinery by using an existing maintenance management system
  • Basic troubleshooting and maintenance of process control systems, CNC machinery, pneumatic tools and hydraulic equipment.
  • Identify faulty equipment through observation and testing.
  • Source replacement parts and perform repairs.
  • Attend daily meetings with the with facility manager to prioritize work and minimize downtime.
  • Safely operate cranes, power tools, hoists and hand tools.
  • Maintain parts and tools inventory.
  • Prepare maintenance reports and summaries using daily/weekly/monthly activity logs.
  • Maintain electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics and mechanical knowledge via on-going training, and technical reading.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Comfortable with operating computers.
  • Capable of operating hand, power and specialized tools.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Team player and willing to work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Must be willing to work overtime, weekdays, and or weekends to meet customer service requirements.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years industrial maintenance or equipment maintenance experience.
  • Basic understanding of HVAC, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanics.
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems and CNC equipment.
  • Knowledge of Maintenance Management Systems

Physical/Work Environment:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
  • This position is very active and requires standing, walking, climbing, crawling, bending, stooping, crouching and climbing at times.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance, vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Able to work at elevated heights
  • Able to wear required PPE
