Job Details

JOB SUMMARY:
As part of a dynamic team the RN Training Manager (RNTM) is responsible for providing exceptional educational leadership to our direct care staff.

  • Design, deliver and continuously improve and adapt a training curriculum depending on educational needs of staff and that meets Assisted Living Licensure requirements.
  • Responsible for creation of content for new hire orientation and development of lesson plans for annual training, while adhering to federal, state, local regulations that meet or exceed industry standards.
  • Conduct courses and provide training to ensure unlicensed staff are competent to perform all activities for residents including personal care, passing medications, simple wound care, catheter care, g-tubes, and other treatments as prescribed.
  • Establish and monitor key metrics to continuously evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and identify additional training opportunities.

REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION LEVEL:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
  • Registered Nurse. Current licensure in the State of MN.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Certification as a nurse educator or professional in dementia beneficial.

EXPERIENCE LEVEL:
  • 2+ years' experience working in a care setting for residents with dementia.
  • Knowledge of MN Department of Human Services and Department of Health licensing and regulatory requirements, as well as Assisted Living licensure rules.
  • Subject matter expert in dementia related best practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn and apply other systems including Eldermark (electronic health records), Paylocity (Learning Management online tool) and other systems.
  • Training experience in a health care setting preferred.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES FOR SUCCESS:
  • A working knowledge of the theories of education and learning to design curricula.
  • Current working knowledge of clinical procedures and protocols.
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking and leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Ability to anticipate and respond effectively to emerging needs.
  • Ability to remain calm and redirect residents in an appropriate manner.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Office setting at one of our residences, or remote, as appropriate.
  • On-location training of unlicensed staff and competency assessments.
  • Driving between residences, and other driving as related to the job, within metro area.
