Job Description
The metrology calibration lab is responsible for all inspection, measurement, and test (IM&T) equipment and to ensure it meets all requirements for accuracy and precision. The technician defines calibration frequency and executes defined calibration procedures while documenting and summarizing the data obtained in the calibration process.
This is a 2nd shift position; Monday - Thursday; 3:30pm - 2:00am.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Interfaces with Manufacturing and Design Engineering along with Production to ensure inspection methods are identified and executed as required.
Proper handling, use and care of plant measurement devices and inspection equipment.
Execute basic maintenance and calibration on inspection equipment.
Supports production set-up, in-process and final component inspections.
CMM programing and operation, dimensional metrology, measurement, and inspection methods.
Perform CMM inspection of component fixtures, gages, and tooling as required.
Coordinates calibrations of inspection, measuring, and test equipment with third-party accredited vendors ensuring proper handling, storage, packaging, preservation, and delivery.
Reviews certificates of calibration and maintains records of calibrations.
Reports any deviations, non-conformances, product, or in-process issues to quality management.
