Western National is seeking an Internal Audit Business Partner to join our team to help build out and grow our organization's Internal Audit process. This role will help create risk assessment and build out a yearly audit plan for the organization. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in finance-related roles with a strong background in internal auditing. This individual will partner with business units to develop, implement, and monitor internal audit programs and activities, and will have a highly visible role with opportunity to work directly with Senior Leadership.

The full hiring range for this role is: $119,000-$178,500 annually; however, the base pay offered may vary depending on the job-related knowledge, skills, credentials, and experience of each candidate as well as other factors such as the scope and location of the role. Candidates outside of the range listed above are encouraged to apply and will be considered based upon their individual qualifications and/or may be considered for other positions.

Responsibilities:
Create and execute Internal Audit program, addressing key risks and operational controls.
Create annual internal audit plan and perform audits in accordance with established plan.
Partner with various departments including department leadership to work through processes and related controls; implement strategy to mitigate future risk.
Conduct periodic assessments of internal control structure, risk mitigation and documentation.
Make decisions related to appropriate implementation and/or corrective action to be taken to address risks and issues identified.
Present audit results and other materials to Western National leadership and Audit Committee.
Responsible for annual Model Audit Rule certification.
Facilitate regulatory exams and annual financial audit by 3rd party accountants.
Qualifications:
5+ years of auditing experience preferred.
Strong experience leading the creation of corporate audit programs.
Previous experience in the Insurance industry is a plus.
Experience working within internal audit departments and Model Audit Rule/Sarbanes Oxley environments required.
CPA/CMA/CIA preferred.
Proficient use of various core systems and technology.
Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting or related field; equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
