Based in our CUDAHY, WISCONSIN location and working as part of the Engineered to Order (ETO) team, the designer prepares arrangement and detailed production drawings for packaged systems, piping, parts and components for fabrication to meet customer specifications company standards of quality and manufacturability. Success in this position requires the candidate to work efficiently in both a collaborative and independent environment, must be safety conscious, good communication skills is a must both internally and externally with customers, high attention to detail is needed, and have a strong motivation for delivering project objectives.

As a Designer, You Will:

Read and interpret documents such as technical specifications, blueprints, and piping and instrumentation (P&I) drawings. Write reports and documentation of processes and procedures. Communicate efficiently with vendors, customers, and other employees of the organization.

Work under project engineering team to build 3D models in Autodesk Inventor for sophisticated parts and piping assemblies in custom gas compression and industrial refrigeration systems.

Prepare calculations such as shipping and operating weights, centers of gravity, structural steel member & frame sizing, etc.

Prepare and issue Engineering Change Orders, accurate documentation and drawing packages for submittal, bills of materials, standard parts specifications, etc.

Participate on multi-functional teams to address and resolve issues and to ensure the continuous, ongoing improvement of processes and methodology. Assist in coordinating, maintaining, and disseminating current design standards for the department.

Provide technical information concerning design and work closely with manufacturing personnel in resolving problems or making modifications during manufacturing.

Redesign existing standard equipment, parts, components, etc. to reduce costs or increase quality.

Schedule

The facility works 24 hours a day and typically 5 days a week. Our core office hours range anywhere between 7 am - 5 pm and are flexible given we work together to best support business demands as well as the needs of our customers around the world.

Required Education, Experience & Skills:
Two (2) year degree in Mechanical Design, or equivalent experience
One to three years 3D modeling experience is required.
Must be a team player, willing to learn from experienced staff and capable of introducing positive changes.
Able to read and interpret documents such as technical specifications, blueprints, and piping and instrumentation (P&I) drawings.
Ability to communicate effectively with vendors, customers, and other employees of the organization.
Legal Authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role.

Preferred Education, Experience & Skills:

Proficient in Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD and Vault is preferred.
Previous experience with compression systems and/or other pressure piping systems
Experience with piping and instrumentation diagrams
