Job Summary: Responsible to lead and coordinate the sustaining activities in support of the operations and quality groups. Including post NPD release operational changes, qualifications related to engineering change orders, and corrective action initiatives. Tool/automation repair, rebuild, or refurbishment, process troubleshooting, equipment/tool condition assessment and warranty. Monitoring and defining process efficiency and scrap improvement. Early NPD involvement, technical capacity evaluations, and ability to provide technical representation with customer concerns. Responsible for successful transition from NPD to production release.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for managing and directing the sustaining engineering team to best serve business needs.
Establish and communicate clear strategy, direction, and goals, with alignment to site goals and activities.
Monitor and support plant operations to meet objectives in quality, safety, cost control, continuous improvement, and efficiency.
Lead regular meetings with staff and provide timely status updates.
Act as liaison between internal team and customer on all sustaining related topics.
Direct personnel activities such as recruitment, hiring, performance evaluation and salary adjustments.
Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment by following all company safety policies and procedures.
Other duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field or suitable work experience.
Minimum of 5 years in the Injection Molding Industry, preferably medical and tooling related.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
Strong technical and proposal writing skills. Must have strong presentation skills.
Ability to exercise strong judgment in analyzing, evaluating and solving problems.
Must be able to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization, customers and all vendors.
Strong or proven Leadership and Employee development background.
Desirable Qualifications:
Must have very strong computer skills to include the knowledge of a variety of computer software applications to include MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, IQMS, Outlook, etc.
Working knowledge of ISO, six sigma techniques, and quality standards.
Knowledgeable and Capable of effectively applying lean manufacturing principles.
Capable of Multi-tasking, organized, excellent time management skills.
Experienced in Managing Budgets and analyzing costs.

Stand, walk, bend, squat, twist, reach or otherwise move frequently
Occasional repetitive motion and grasping
Occasional climbing to reach areas on machines or racks
Lift, move or otherwise transfer up to 50 lbs. occasionally, >20 lbs. frequently
Typically sits, grasps items or performs keyboarding for occasional operation of a computer
