HOT SPRINGS SCHOOL DISTRICT 23-2 IT TECHNICIAN COORDINATOR Job Description REPORTS TO: The IT Technician Coordinator reports to the district Superintendent. PRIMARY FUNCTION: The IT Technician Coordinator installs, maintains, designs, builds, and uses Windows, Android and iOS devices, Interactive classroom displays, digital curriculum applications, printers, cloud technologies, disaster recovery, firewalls and cybersecurity applications, and device reimaging. Applicant makes decisions pertaining to the type and amount of work to be completed and establishes procedures based on the school's goals, priorities, and commitments. Decisions made are based upon knowledge of the procedural requirements with an awareness of the specific functions and assignments of the Technology department. QUALIFICATIONS: The preferred applicant should have at minimum a BA Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields; or a minimum of three year's related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Must have creative problem-solving skills, enthusiasm, team player, good writing and documenting skills required and a strong work ethic. A problem solver who can work independently and is able to work through problems is a must. The ability to be willing to learn and understand the current technology processes and be willing to do training, attend workshops, or call for technical support as needed. Ability to maintain confidentiality, be dependable, honest, and trustworthy. REPORTS TO: Superintendent SUPERVISES: IT Technician Specialist, if needed RESPONSIBILITIES: Installs PC's and related hardware and software. Ability to configure and support Windows desktop and server operation systems. Ability to troubleshoot wireless AP. Provides Firewall Management (BIT Joint Accountability) Manage Lightspeed content filter & MDM. Knowledge and ability to provide network security maintenance and troubleshooting of Microsoft DPM and Microsoft WSUS Ability to configure changes for Voicemail and Extensions. Ability to manage upgrades for Controller Firmware. Knowledge and ability to configure changes for Door Schedule, Motion Recording and User Rights Access. Performs all other related duties as assigned by Management. CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Microsoft certification preferred. Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid South Dakota driver's license and be insurable under the district's insurance policy. Network management education/certification highly preferred. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to read, hear and communicate well with employees and other stakeholders.
