The EERC offers opportunities to people with an exceptional work attitude, dedication to high professional standards, and commitment to personal development. We are looking for confident, scientifically trained, and market-oriented individuals to contribute to the success of the organization by performing one or more of the following functions:
  • Study, develop, and report on state-of-the-art and novel geophysical technology.
  • Support site screening of carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS), enhanced oil recovery (EOR), hydrogen storage, and/or geothermal opportunities.
  • Lead interactions with a variety of commercial clients and research partners.
  • Support and lead submission of proposals for funding of state or federal projects, and manage those projects.
  • Work with a team of geoscientists to develop creative algorithms for collecting, processing, and analyzing time-lapse geophysical data.
  • Implement AVO for monitoring and surveillance of CO2 storage or EOR in clastic, carbonate, and unconventional reservoirs (specific experience in modeling seismic response in CCS and EOR reservoir conditions).
  • Interpretation of local and regional structural interpretation in a variety of complex structural regimes (extensional, compressional, strike-slip).
  • Application of seismic attribute (structural, AVO, inversion) and integration with geology and reservoir in a multidisciplinary team environment (preferred specific experience with feasibility of pre-stack analysis for time-lapse and seismic inversion resulting in useful fluid characterization and reservoir properties).
  • Integration of geophysical results into geologic modeling and numerical simulation workflows (specific experience integrating geophysics with streamline analysis and/or compositional simulation preferred).
  • Oversight and quality assurance/quality control of 2D/3D/4D seismic processing and inversion workflows.
  • Support fiber optic-based acquisition, processing, and interpretation, including DAS, DTS, and VSP data.
  • Support geophysics-related activities in coordination with permit team to ensure compliance of site characterization and monitoring plans toward certification and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Become familiar with geophysical monitoring opportunities that contribute to regulatory requirements for permitting Class II, Class VI injection, CARB LCFS, and IRS 45Q.
  • Support and participate in risk assessment efforts associated with CO2 storage sites.
  • Prepare briefings, technical reports, conference papers, and peer-reviewed journal articles, and communicate technical results to clients and the scientific community.
  • Assist in the preparation of technical proposals, reports, publications, and presentations.
