Job Information

•    As a Cost Management Manager you will program manage Cost Modeling & VIP Program with Procurement, Operations, and Product Development
•    Work with Suppliers for Collaborative Cost Model Development and Implementation
•    Identify BIC (best in class) suppliers and their cost models
•    Develop Internal Manufacturing Cost Models and Benchmark vs Suppliers
•    Use Cost Models to proactively Manage Cost Innovation (Current Production Savings / Future Product Target Setting / Engineering Changes / Price Increase Requests)
•    Identify Savings and Waste Reduction Opportunities, work with appropriate organizations to implement savings
•    Assist in the identification and leveraging of Strategic Suppliers

Role & Responsibility

Cost Management
    Manage the cost engineering team and support the following:
•    Cost model development including enterprise cost models and open book collaborative cost models
•    Perform comprehensive testing of the cost models prior to launch
•    Perform costing analysis for all costing issues including current price evaluation, future product target setting, price increase management  
•    Identify waste reduction opportunities
•    Support the organizations including Purchasing, Operations, Finance and Product Development

Governance & Program Excellence     
Work with purchasing to develop, launch, and manage a cost modeling program globally for the various required commodity types.  The components of the plan include the following:
•    Train & Launch Program within Purchasing and Supply Base
•    Work to Tie Business Results to the Program
•    Generate Supplier Engagement List
•    Establish Spend to be Analyzed
•    Establish Process, documents, and reporting structures to drive fast implementation into purchasing practices
 
VIP Program Performance    
•    Monitor and Report Performance to Management
•    Monitor performance in assigned area/suppliers and gap analysis to target performance
•    Implement and manage a Compliance Steering Committee for alignment and approval
 
VIP Supplier - Relationship Management    
•    Support the Global Categories in implementing a robust VIP Supplier Management routine (development, deployment, sustaining and improvement)
 
Organization Capability Development on Cost Modeling     
•    Develop, deliver, and consolidate training plans and curriculum related to cost modeling for Global Category Teams
•    Develop Long Range plan for program integration into core internal activities (Make, Buy & NPD)
•    Support supplier partnership program

Job Requirement

•    Education Required: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, or related fields (MBA preferred)
•    CPSM preferred

•    Experience Required: 5+ years

•    Travel Required: 10-25%
•    Experience with Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement
•    Green Belt or Black Belt preferred
•    Broad base Procurement knowledge of business functions (Sourcing, Supply Chain, Quality, Operations, Finance, Product Life cycle management)
•    Experience preferred in supply chain management, production, engineering, or supplier development
•    Multidisciplinary experience across Procurement Functions with Global corporation 
•    Proven track record of strategic thinking, implementing processes and managing multiple projects with cross-functional work experience
•    Ability to effectively lead teams
•    Strong strategy/planning skills
•    Excellent communication skills
•    Ability to successfully drive change initiatives
•    Successful process-driven mindset
•    Ability to execute/deliver result

What skills, education, and experiences does your ideal candidate(s) have?

•Education Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
•These are entry level opportunities
•Must be able to follow established methods and procedures and perform work accordingly. Must have the ability to work rapidly and under time pressure for extended periods of time in order to meet build requirements. Must possess the ability to read build sheets and blueprints.
•The ability to communicate with supervisors and fellow workers in both written and verbal forms at a level normally acquired through the completion of a high school diploma or GED is required.
•Job specific skills, techniques and safe work and equipment operating practices are learned through on-the-job and classroom training. General instructions are given on recurring duties, operations and assignments; detailed instructions are given on new duties, operations and assignments.
