About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Construction Manager who will be reporting to the Regional Construction Manager, the Senior Construction Manager will assist physical infrastructure construction and remediation activities in existing core and regional data centers. This individual should have experience in data center/critical facility design and construction projects in a live data center environment.

Other responsibilities include:
  • Develops and manages simple construction project plans, budgets and schedules, work with end users, line of business and senior management to understand complex problems and focus on bringing issues to resolution, escalating as necessary to meet project demands
  • Assist the Senior Lead Construction Managers and Lead Construction Managers in the implementation of complex constructions projects
  • Develops and assists with contracts to architects, engineers, general contractors, commissioning agents and other external vendors
  • Provides construction project assistance including coordinating internal and external consultants and vendors to assure compliance with construction project specifications, budgets and schedules and facility risk profile
  • Maintains effective communications with internal customers, construction project team and management
  • Ability to interact with senior management to create and implement complex communication plans that deliver construction project goals, plans and execution and progress reports
  • Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures as well as government and regulatory requirements
  • Promoting a safe, secure, and ethical business environment for all employees and customers
  • Routinely communicating updates to management and stakeholders
  • Familiarity of data center construction, applicable laws and regulations, industry benchmarking, emerging issues, internal guidelines and policies, services, and business processes
  • Must be able to meet WF guidance on working in the office as required (3 days a week currently)
In this role, you will:
  • Manage a portfolio of projects through all phases of construction, remodeling and reconfiguration of company facilities
  • Contribute to large-scale planning related to functional area deliverables
  • Review and research moderately complex construction projects that require an in-depth evaluation of variable factors
  • Resolve and develop construction project budgets and schedules and negotiates and awards related contracts to architects, engineers and general contractors
  • Lead team to meet deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures and compliance requirements
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and mid-level managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
  • Interact with internal and external customers
Required Qualifications, US:
  • 4+ years of Construction Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications
  • BS/BA degree or higher in construction
  • BS/BA degree or higher in design
  • BS/BA degree or higher in engineering
  • Ability to communicate effectively, in both written and verbal formats, with senior executive-level leaders
  • Ability to identify risks and propose mitigation plans
  • Knowledge and understanding of mission critical infrastructure systems including Buildings and Advance BMS or EMS systems
  • SAP application exposure; preferably within Wells Fargo's Corporate Properties Group
  • Strong customer relationship management skills
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • Outstanding problem solving and decision making skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced deadline driven environment
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important
  • Ability to interact with integrity and a high level of professionalism with all levels of team members and management
  • Budget management experience
Other Desired Qualifications
  • Construction project management experience, or an equivalent military experience in a technical field related to operations, construction, or project management in a highly mission critical environment.
  • Basic understanding of design and construction of critical facilities
  • Significant military training and experience in a commensurate high-risk environment is a plus and may be considered in lieu of an engineering bachelor's degree.
  • Financial services industry experience
  • Experience in live or new build data center construction projects
  • Commissioning experience through Integrated Systems Testing
  • Understanding key construction management tools and methodologies: critical path scheduling, cost estimating and cash flow management, bids and contracts, and use of risk register
  • Ability to handle confidential material in a professional manner
  • Intermediate Microsoft Teams and Project skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of mission critical infrastructure systems including Buildings and Advance BMS or EMS systems and UPS, batteries, generators, cooling, and electrical distribution systems"
  • BS/BA degree or higher in mechanical or electrical engineering
Job Expectations
  • Flexibility to address incidents as needed 24 hours a day
  • Flexibility to work in a 24/7 environment, including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
