Overview


Egan Company is seeking candidates for an Electrical Designer/Modeler position located in Rochester MN. The Electrical Designer/Modeler applies electrical designing & modeling methods in compliance with company systems; work with designers, electricians, and Engineers in performing various design and engineering tasks in support of a designated project or group of projects.


Responsibilities
  • Navigate and use Egan's AutoCAD and/or Revit systems and processes.
  • Learn and perform the following:
    • Perform layout and input of marked-up drawings into Revit in accordance with Egan's standards.
    • Produce detailed drawings in 3D including installation instructions as required for prefabrication orders as directed by project team.
    • Creates prototypes, layouts, and models for electrical product components, or systems.
    • Perform laser scans, collect, and process data for electrical BIM layouts.
    • Add to prefabrication catalog of working drawings, wiring diagrams, and cross-sections, as required for fabrication and installation crew instructions.
    • Performs verification and preparation of layout drawings to meet customer requirements.
    • Collaborate with Electrical Foremen/Superintendents/Project Managers daily on prefabrication orders, schedules, changes, etc.
    • Read architectural and structural floor plans, sections, and elevations.
    • Manage workflow on projects assigned.
    • Create and maintain a positive working relationship with internal and external customers.
    • Complete As-Built drawings at the end of each project.
    • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
  • Promote a positive safety culture by following Egan's safety policies.
  • Build strong internal partnerships, work collaboratively with other Egan groups to support Egan's Mission, Vision, and Values.
  • Actively participate in Egan's Summer Internship Program and activities.
  • Perform additional duties and assignments as requested/assigned.


Key Responsibilities


  • Two to four years of Revit and AutoCAD MEP software.
  • Proficient using standard office computer programs such as Google Suite and Microsoft Office.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Courteous, professional, diplomatic, and highly motivated.
  • Ability to adjust to changing priorities and methods.
  • Willingness to learn new ideas and concepts takes on new tasks and challenges.


Qualifications


  • Two or four-year degree in Electrical Construction Design & Management, Computer Aided Drafting & Design Program, Architectural or Electrical Engineering
  • High school diploma or GED
