Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Complete timely and technically accurate moderate to complex income tax returns for farming operations as well as owners of farmland, while providing quality customer service and advice. Types of returns include individuals, partnerships, C Corporations, and S Corporations. Activities include interviews, amendments, tax planning and moderate to complex business transition services. Examine accounts and records and compute taxes owed according to prescribed rates, laws and regulations. Advise customers regarding the effects of business activities on taxes and on strategies for minimizing tax liability. Ensure customers comply with periodic tax payments, information reporting and other taxing authority requirements when applicable.
Team with loan officers to market our integrated package of financial services to new and existing customers, and manage new customer sales goals. Collaborate with other tax specialists in the association to find creative solutions to meet customer needs. Participate in individual and group customer and prospect meetings. Develop and maintain documented strategies for large, complex accounts in order to deliver outstanding products and service to retain accounts. Establish networking relationships with individuals in the business and agricultural communities. Maintain sales and market competence by participating in AgCountry sales and development training programs.
Provide tax expertise and support to the association staff in areas of tax processing, regulations, and interpretation. Serve as an association expert and resource person for complex tax issues, questions, and implications and mentor other employees. Enhance association operations through effective communications regarding customer relations and other issues that arise.
Proactively develop and maintain a highly sophisticated level of knowledge in the areas of tax and accounting. Work with the AgCountry Education Department to expand knowledge and skills in the areas of technology, sales and marketing techniques, and relationship building. Maintain a complete understanding of all AgCountry products and services and the agricultural industry.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in accounting or related business field.
Five or more years of related experience.
Successful completion of AgCountry's tax certification.
Sound analytical and presentation/sales skills.
Strong interpersonal, time-management, and organizational skills.
Complete understanding of the agricultural industry and of tax and farm accounting products and services.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Agricultural background or farm tax preparation experience.
CPA/EA certification.
