RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Promote the mission of Bishop O Gorman Catholic Schools
  • Provide creative development to help execute marketing efforts of the Bishop O Gorman

Catholic Schools through print design, digital media and website management including:

publications, direct mailers, brochures, flyers, posters, print ads, t-shirt designs, website/

social media creative and digital ads, etc.

  • Assist the Development department and other departments, including but not limited to:

admissions, foundation, human resources, individual school sites and the President's office

with marketing, design and website needs

  • Assist in planning & directing photo shoots
  • Review and edit photos for improving photo quality (identify image needs like color

correction, adjusting properties, etc.)

  • Help ensure marketing brand standards are being met within and outside the school system

(logos, colors and graphics and the brand standard guide)

  • Organize internal workflow process and a tracking system of projects (job request sheets,

marketing calendar or other tools) to enhance productivity, ensure quality control, & to make

sure deadlines are met

  • Check the creative development of all design/layout of publications and printed marketing materials to carefully ensure mistake-free work and get final approvals before going to print (ex. Re-U-Knight-er and Annual Report)
  • Work with print vendors (prepare files for print production, confirming production specs &

details, & assist with requesting printing bids)

  • Work with independent contractors (photographers, web developers, etc.) as required

to meet assigned deadlines

  • Maintain high skill levels in software programs required to perform assigned job functions;

take training in the use of new design & illustration software as required

  • Maintain organized archive of images, photos, digital files and previous work products
  • Assist with website maintenance management: responsible for updating and maintaining

content, photos, publications, links, & forms

  • Assist with Development and Foundation events - this may require working some nights and

weekends (less than 5 events per year)

  • Perform various additional duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Essential Qualifications:
  1. Willingness and ability to effectively make known the Catholic Church's teachings through the varied ministry activities expected of this position
  2. Willingness and ability to act as an outstanding personal witness to the Catholic faith and religion by living both one's professional and personal life in accordance with the doctrines and moral teachings of the Roman Catholic Church, as embodied in the various documents of the Roman Catholic Church, including, without limitation, the Catechism of the Roman Catholic Church

  • An Associate's degree with experience or Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Digital Media

or similar major

  • Proficient knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Knowledge of website maintenance management
  • Deadline oriented - ability to manage time, multi-task & prioritize projects
  • Strong conceptual thinker who possesses a wide range of design capabilities including a solid

background in print, branding, outdoor marketing, and content editing

  • Comfortable working with and managing outside vendors and printers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills essential to team collaboration
  • Proven ability to develop projects as assigned with minimal supervision
  • Effective time management skills required to understand priorities and manage workload
  • Attention to detail
  • Adapts well to a variety of tasks
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in distracting environment
