Exercise Science Faculty

POSITION:                           Exercise Science Faculty (PCN 01112220)

STARTING DATE:               Approximately August 7, 2023                                    

APPOINTMENT:                Full-Time Unlimited

Alexandria Technical & Community College Health Division program graduates are recognized for industry-leading excellence. The college is searching for an instructor that will work with existing faculty in building on this tradition of student success, expanding industry partnerships, and positioning the program for future growth. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:          

Full-time on-campus instructional position to teach courses in Exercise Science in the Health Division of the college.  Other duties will include, but are not limited to:  

• Managing the Exercise Science program and projects
• Recruiting and interviewing prospective students Developing and delivering curriculum
• Maintaining and promoting a safe working environment
• Supervising internship and field experiences
• Advising current students
• Maintaining an on-going relationship with industry and community partners
• Maintaining and updating labs and program equipment
• Collaborating with marketing department to promote the program
• Participating in committee work and service to the college and community

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum:

• Master's degree in physical education, exercise science, or kinesiology or

Master's degree in any field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credits (27 graduate quarter credits) in physical education, exercise science, or kinesiology

Preferred:

• Work experience in exercise science or related field Teaching/training/mentoring experience NSCA certified Proven history of establishing relationships with community partners Excellent written and oral communication skills Ability to work both independently and with a variety of people as a team member Ability to work with diverse populations with a broad range of interests and abilities Computer skills sufficient to operate a variety of software applications, such as Microsoft Office, email, etc.
