As a Regulatory Affairs Analyst, you will be an individual contributor in UnitedHealthcare's Legal, Regulatory, Affairs, and Compliance (LCRA) group. Positions in this function provide technical and operational regulatory affairs support to business, legal, and compliance partners related to Medicaid and other government programs. Enhance the organization's regular internal reporting, tracking, and provide recommendations to enhance processes.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Respond to inquiries, requests and actions by business and LCRA Partners
  • Complete internal regulatory review and filings related to marketing materials
  • Handle other regulatory research, report generation, audits, and review new laws/regulations/guidance
  • Analyze and resolve policy and regulatory issues to meet business and regulatory requirements and to protect with external stakeholder
  • Triage operational and product issues relating to managed care contracts from LCRA and business partners
  • Investigate non-standard requests and problems
  • This role requires you to be nimble as you work in our highly matrixed business. Your communication skills will be put to the test when you provide high-level insight on regulatory changes and how they will affect different programs

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience working in regulatory affairs or compliance
  • Proven exceptional organizational and communication skills to work with stakeholders on regulatory matters
  • Demonstrated ability to provide timely and responsive support for partners located in multiple time zones


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience responding to inquiries from a variety of stakeholders (external customers, internal customers, executives and regulators)
  • Understanding of regulations impacting health care, commercial insurance, Medicaid Managed Care, Dual Special Needs, Medicare, government bids, or provider issues
  • Basic understanding of contracts
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe, and database navigation
  • Proven project management skills
  • Proven solid analytical, problem solving, decision-making and time management skills
  • Proven excellent research skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain rapport with superiors, peers, subordinates, and external company contacts
  • Proven success in collaborating across a large, matrixed business and legal environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and drive results
  • Proven solid work ethic
  • Demonstrates well-developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in an ambiguous environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, results-oriented workplace
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and work effectively under time constraints
  • Demonstrates comfortable taking ownership and accountability for projects
  • Proven solid ability to prioritize and organize workload

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island or Washington residents is $56,300 to $110,400. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
