Position Information

Do you enjoy assisting students and staff in an energetic Wellness environment? The Wellness Center is looking for an individual to join our team as our Pool Operator. This is a full-time benefitted position with 10 paid holidays, paid vacation and sick time, (no premium) health insurance, tuition discounts for you and your dependents, and an excellent retirement contribution.

The Pool Operator at the Wellness Center is responsible for the mechanical operations and custodial for two indoor swimming pools, spa, sauna and aquatic facilities. Responsibilities include cleaning of pools, pool decks. Other responsibilities include cleaning pool filters, conducting general facility repairs and services to all pool mechanical equipment. Maintain water chemistry in compliance with local health department regulations. All training will be provided!

Work Schedule:

Monday -Friday 6:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. with as needed rotating 24/7 callback schedule. Some flexibilty to that start and end time based upon request.

Advertised Salary:

$38,000+/year depending on experience and qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Basic understanding of plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems
  • Ability to obtain a Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) Certification within 6 months of employment
  • Strong written, interpersonal and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work well with others, as well as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and accountability

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) Certification
  • 1+ year of commercial pool maintenance experience.
