Primary responsibilities are the oversight of global US GAAP accounting for the consolidation of the company's global ledgers, and compliance with all SEC external reporting requirements.



Accounting and reporting responsibilities include the management of the general ledger and monthly, quarterly and year-end closing processes; maintenance and accuracy of the Corporate accounting ledgers, and oversight of all worldwide accounting and reporting issues. This role is responsible for managing and participating in the monthly global consolidation, which includes multiple currency accounting, as well the overall responsibility for accounting and reporting of other technical GAAP matters, as they may arise. Also responsible for timely preparation of financial reporting deliverables to the management team and Board of Directors, including monthly reporting packages, board packages, and other ad-hoc analysis as needed.



Position is responsible for the management of key accounting processes and compliance with financial and operations accounting policies. Also responsible for ensuring appropriateness of and compliance with key internal controls over the corporate accounting and consolidation processes and identifying and implementing process improvements over such processes. Acts as coordinator and primary contact with external auditors.



Liaison with Controller and executive management team on all financial and reporting matters. This role is also responsible for ensuring US GAAP compliance in certain aspects of the Company's consolidated financial reporting, including technical analyses of new and existing accounting pronouncements.



This position is very active in driving change and improvements in the department and throughout the worldwide finance organization, through process improvement and documentation activities, and special project responsibilities.



Working in a corporate headquarters location of a global corporation, this individual must possess the ability and skills to successfully interact with, influence, coordinate and lead both a geographically and culturally diverse set of financial team members, using all tools available, including email, telephone and personal travel as appropriate.



Essential Functions:



Responsible for all aspects of global US GAAP compliance, including monthly, quarterly and year-end closing processes; timeliness and accuracy of monthly close and related reporting, implementation of new rules and regulations, compliance with internal controls around accounting/financial reporting activities, and accuracy of transactional accounting around the world.



Responsible for coordination and execution of external audits.



Continuous improvement of underlying operational accounting and financial reporting systems (PeopleSoft, Hyperion) to improve reporting accuracy, streamline processes, and automate reports / processes.



Responsible for development, maintenance and management of the financial reporting department; including development of staff.



Acts as a leader in implementing process improvements and fostering communications / relationships in worldwide finance team, as well as acting as a liaison to executive management team.




Minimum Required Education & Experience:



  • BS Degree in Accounting

  • 8-10 years of previously related experience in Corporate accounting department or in a big four or large regional public accounting firm Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

  • Extensive knowledge of US GAAP, SEC Regulations, international reporting.

  • Aptitude for project management and process improvement

  • Proven track record in serving as a valued business advisor

  • Strong leadership skills - ability to lead and serve as an effective team member in a large organization including coaching and developing subordinates

  • Strong system skills - ability to develop and implement technology vision to propel commercial success for an organization

  • Prior management experience in finance/accounting department, or as a manager in public accounting setting

  • Experience with a multi-national organization


Compensation: $120,000 to $140,000 + bonus
