This role will provide financial support to win large and complex deals for Optum Corporate. Success in this role will be dependent on your ability to successfully navigate and influence change across a matrix organization while quickly adapting to changing priorities. Coupled with the ability to clearly articulate business issues and recommended solutions in the context of a fast-paced and high-growth environment that has a long-term commitment to making health care better for everyone.

If you are located in Eden Prairie, MN, you will have the flexibility to work remotely 1-2 days a week , as well as work in the office as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Analyze complex deals, develop pricing recommendations, and drive critical approval process with finance executives to meet tight deadlines
  • Understand business goals and objectives to help advise executives on appropriate solution
  • Manage financial responses to RFI/RFP's
  • Maintain knowledge of market trends, competitors, and industry changes to help drive solution strategy
  • Understand cost structure across multiple business units in order to incorporate into a single Optum view
  • Utilize cost structure knowledge to create and maintain complex financial models and communicate results to executives
  • Work with multiple business unit executives to determine correct solution, resources needed and contractual terms for deals

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • 4+ years of progressive professional experience in Finance and/or Accounting
  • 4+ years of experience in analyzing and responding to RFP's
  • Financial modeling and analysis experience
  • Intermediate level experience with Microsoft Excel
  • Be a self-starter, product quality work, make independent decision, and deliver enterprise commitments
  • Ability to communicate with all levels and cross functionally within an organization
  • Demonstrated high attention to detail including ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
  • Proven organizational skills with ability to be flexible, work in cross-functional and matrixed teams, and work with ambiguity


Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1+ years of experience working on RFPs for government entities
  • Pricing experience
  • Solid analytical skills with experience working with complex data sets
