Summary
The precision farming specialist is responsible for selling guidance equipment and accessories. In addition, this position is expected to provide all customer service and troubleshooting related to guidance and precision farming.

Essential Functions

Contacts current and prospective customers to discuss precision farming products and solicit orders.
Travels to customers' properties or other agreed upon locations to meet with customers in person.
Discovers customers' precision farming needs and recommends product solutions.
Answers customers' questions about precision farming products, services, and prices.
Estimates prices and prepares written sales quotes.
Negotiates prices and services with customers.
Installs and calibrates precision farming equipment.
Coordinates and schedules precision farming equipment demonstrations at the dealership or customers' properties.
Sets up, attends, and presents precision farming material at service clinics, field days, and approved trade shows.
Trains customers and/or their employees on equipment functions and operation.
Contacts customers before and after the sale to resolve problems, provide ongoing support, build and maintain relationships, and develop new sales leads.
Troubleshoots and corrects issues which arise with customers' guidance equipment.
Coordinates dispatch of precision farming equipment service technicians for customers requiring service of guidance equipment.
Informs customers of any on-going parts or service programs such as winter service specials,

scheduled maintenance programs or seasonal parts specials.

Completes related paperwork, including sales quotes, sales orders, credit applications, expense reports, and vehicle fuel and mileage reports.
Records sales activity including customer profile information.
Provides input in development of personal sales goals.
Attends related sales and product training sessions and meetings.
Communicates regularly with other employees regarding schedule and sales activity.
Mentors and trains newly hired sales representatives.
Assists with general dealership operations as requested.

Required Education and/or Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent
1-3 years of related experience

Preferred Education and/or Experience
Associate degree or 2-year Technical Degree in a related field
3-5 years of related experience
