SUMMARY

Paragon Professional Services, LLC, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation is currently seeking a qualified Senior Project Engineer for the United State Army Corp of Engineers, Pipestem Dam Spillway Modification Project in Jamestown, North Dakota. The Senior Office Engineer will perform Quality Assurance tests for construction work at the Pipestem Dam Modification Project near Jamestown, North Dakota. Perform work with construction submittal reviews and provide appropriate comments to the Contracting Officer Representative (COR). The Senior Office Engineer provides technical & administrative information to the others working on a project to ensure that the work complies with all engineering standards, codes, specifications, and design instruction; trouble-shoots engineering related installation problems. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to: Processing submittals Processing RFIs Keeping up daily work tickets Posting RFIs and change orders Tracking and managing change orders Maintaining as-builts as work is completed. Documenting project issues/conditions Maintaining organized and detailed project records Submitting hours and cost codes Obtaining permits, badges and access requests in advance Assists with preparing change orders. Manage project library.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform duties according to the Black Hills Area QA plan and the Pipestem Spillway Modification Project QA Plan.
  • Perform work with construction submittal reviews and provide appropriate comments to the COR.
  • Perform modification work for all stages of a modification, including drafting Basic Change Documents (BCD), Pre-Negotiation Objectives Memorandum (POM), draft SF-30 contractual modification language, Prepare Post-Negotiation Objectives Memorandum (POM), and other work associated with modification work.
  • Perform site inspections and provide input as to constructability and identify issues with work progress.
  • Attend meetings.

    Qualifications

    Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications (applies to both this section and KSAO???s)

    • Bachelor???s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or similar discipline
    • 10 years??? experience in office engineer position or similar Required
    • At least one of these management systems:

      scheduling - CPM

      Estimating and subcontracts

      Material control

      Unit man-hour performance

      Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

      • Excel and Power point
      • MS Word
      • Construction Safety and EM-385, OSHA requirements

        Preferred

        • Experience on larger civil and or earthwork construction projects

              Job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. The work described herein is primarily in a modern office setting. Occasional travel may be required. There may be instance where walking and standing while inspections are performed at construction sites

              SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

              • No supervisory responsibilities.

                ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS

                As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.
