In this important R&E role, you'll provide leadership and design, development, optimization, and problem solving for personal care manufacturing and converting focusing on robotics & automation. Candidates must have expertise across multiple technologies and will have a demonstrated ability to effectively provide specific project work direction to a broad range of team members. You'll report to an Engineering Sr. Manager and receive direction in the form of general project objectives.

Essential Accountabilities:

  • Lead single or multiple product or process improvement projects with a financial scope of up to $10 million from conception through commercialization.

  • Provide functional leadership and creativity in the initiation of design, development and optimization of personal care converting and manufacturing equipment and processes to meet unit objectives.

  • Develop knowledge and skills in leadership of the application of engineering principles, scientific analysis and project management.

  • Carry out all job responsibilities in a safe manner. Develop equipment and processes that meet safety codes, policies, and guidelines. Provide for the safety and wellbeing of operators, maintenance and other personnel.

  • Identify complex technical issues and provide necessary solutions to eliminate root cause. Assist in the development of others within the area of expertise.

  • Support projects that utilize robots while developing standards for the manufacturers, models and types best suited for each application.

To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology degree from an accredited college or university.

  • 4+ years of experience in a variety of technical or operational assignments in a manufacturing or research environment.

  • Experience with manufacturing control systems, such as Rockwell programming, AC Drives, Servo Drives, and PLC logic.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (story telling) and proven successful collaboration skills.

  • Ability to travel up to 20%.

Preferred:

  • Experience with specifying, implementing, integrating, and/or programming of robots and automation equipment within manufacturing processes. This may include industrial robots, cobots or other automation solutions.
