Salary: Salary will be commensurate with experience

This position is a 0.5 FTE, twelve (12)-month, special appointment with the University of North Dakota (UND) School of Medicine and Health Sciences (SMHS).

Duties & Responsibilities

The University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences is looking to hire a faculty member at a 0.5 FTE with the primary role of designing, implementing, and overseeing an organization-wide strategy to advance wellness among all members within the UND SMHS. This includes medical, health sciences, graduate students, residents, fellows, staff, faculty, and administration.

This leadership position is expected to be an excellent communicator and organizer by developing collaborative work relationships with other leaders and constituents within and outside UND SMHS.

This position will report to the UND SMHS Dean. Also reports to the Chair of department of the associate dean's respective discipline regarding discipline-specific activities.

Responsibilities

  • Leading the UND SMHS effort in education and practice regarding health promotion/integrative wellness as well as issues related to substance use and mental health.
  • Advocating for processes and programs to foster and maintain an institutional culture of well-being.
  • Serving as the UND SMHS representative to external partners in joint efforts related to health promotion (health, wellness, well-being).
  • Serving as a role model and advocate for the cultural values of the UND SMHS.
  • Serving as an ad hoc member to the UND SMHS Dean's administrative leadership team and attending meetings at the request of the Dean.


Minimum Qualifications

  • A relevant doctorate degree, for example: PhD, PsyD, MD, DO, DNP, OTD.
  • If applicable, must have an unrestricted license to practice in North Dakota.
  • If applicable, board certification by the appropriate licensing board.
  • At least five years leadership experience in wellness programs within higher education institution, academic medicine, behavioral health and community resources, health care delivery systems.
  • Successful completion of criminal history records check.
