Job Description: Job Description:A Buyer/Planner supports production with purchased material to fabricate windows in Warroad and Grafton. It is their responsibility to obtain the appropriate quantity of goods in a professional, reliable and responsive manner at the negotiated price while meeting quality, schedule and performance requirements specified by the Marvin company.Highlights of your roleEnsuring a continuous, quality supply of materials that are fit for use by the production customer, including prompt resolution of any quality, delivery and supplier relationship issues at the root-cause level to ensure materials maintain a ship-to-use status.Managing cost and inventory levels (modifiers and pricing) of assigned material.Improving inventory turns, managing obsolescence, preparing outage reports and manage aged inventory.Making recommendations on cost reduction, inventory levels and opportunity for lot size adjustments.Fulfilling quotes, samples, and other information requests for internal customers in a timely manner, utilizing prompt and effective communication and follow-through.Working with transportation and suppliers for backhauling or shipping material.Working with Accounts Payable to reconcile packing slips to invoice.Building a supplier relationship on pricing, delivery, and all other terms of business, ensuring partnerships meet the short and long-term goals of both Marvin and its suppliers.Managing material ramp-up and run-down strategies and tactics, including transition and appropriate stocking levels.Improving internal material processes and utilization.You are a good fit if you haveComputer proficiency (ICIM, Word, Excel)Excellent communication skills, both written and verbalAbility to read and understand material prints and specificationsUnderstanding of material quality requirements, processes and proceduresAbility to analyze inventory usage and requirementsLeadership skillsPurchasing processes and systems knowledgeNegotiating skills2 or 4 year business related degree is preferrablePrior purchasing experience a plusKnowledge/experience of Marvin productYour opportunity for better living At Marvin, we're driven to imagine and create better ways of living.
