Job Details

The Product Design Engineer will be responsible for delivering unique and innovative products, from ideation to production, with an emphasis on Electrical Engineering, Internet of Things (IoT), and connected devices.

Responsibilities Include:

Conceptualize, prototype, test, document, design, implement, sustain, and support current and new products
Proficiency designing both analog and digital electronics, centered around Microcontrollers and Microprocessors, and Networking/router System on Chips (SoC)
Proficiency developing embedded firmware
Performing pre through post opportunity sales support to current customers and new prospects

Requirements:
Client is certified in the following states: AR, AZ, CA, FL, GA, IN, MN, NC, NJ, NV, NY, OH, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT

Required Skills and Experience
BSEE or equivalent
5+ years of electrical hardware design experience
5+ years of embedded firmware design experience
Debugging skills and experience using common engineering tools
Experience using Schematic capture and PCB layout tools, preferably Altium
Experience using Integrated Development Environments (IDE) for building, debugging, testing, and deploying firmware, preferably IAR
Experience with electrical/mechanical integration, relative to product enclosures
Strong technical aptitude
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and successfully prioritize competing tasks
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
High attention to detail and accuracy

Preferred Skills and Experience
Experience with networking/router on System on Chips (SoC), similar to Qualcomm Atheros (QCA4531) or equivalent
Experience with embedded Linux (OpenWRT or similar) SW/FW development relative to networking/router SoC's
Experience with low level kernel BSP/board bring up relative to embedded Linux and networking/router SoC's
Experience with high-speed PCB layout relative to networking/router SoC's including external memory interfaces, ethernet ports/phys/magnetics, PCIe, and USB
Experience with ARM Cortex M Microcontrollers
Proficiency developing with wireless devices such as cellular modems, Wi-Fi/BLE modules
Experience developing products that connect to the internet and/or cloud services
Experience optimizing designs for low power usage
Experience driving designs through regulatory agencies such as FCC, UL, CE, etc.
Proficiency designing for testing and manufacturing best practices
