Position Summary

The Human Resources Generalist will support the Director of Human Resources in delivering comprehensive HR services to the Girl Scouts of Wisconsin Southeast (GSWISE). The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing our employee benefits program, leading our recruitment efforts, ensuring a smooth onboarding process for new hires, and administering training programs for our employees.



What You'll Do

  1. Administer employee benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement plans, and other employee benefits programs.
  2. Manage all aspects of the employee benefits program, including enrollments, changes, and terminations.
  3. Work with benefits brokers and carriers to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and to provide timely and accurate information to employees.
  4. Manage full-cycle recruitment efforts for assigned positions, including job postings, resume screening, interviewing, and selection.
  5. Develop and maintain relationships with universities, job boards, and community organizations to attract top talent.
  6. Conduct new hire orientation and ensure a smooth onboarding process for new employees.
  7. Administer and manage training programs for employees, including identifying training needs, coordinating training sessions, and tracking training completion.
  8. Provide generalist support including employee relations, performance management, compliance issues, and other HR-related initiatives.
  9. Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in the HRIS system.
  10. Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of HR policies and procedures that support GSWISE goals and objectives.
  11. Actively contribute to a more equitable and inclusive organization.
  12. Assist with employee relations matters, including investigations and resolution of workplace disputes.
  13. Point of contact for workers' compensation claims.
  14. Models behavior consistent with the Mission and purpose of Girl Scouting.
  15. Perform other duties as needed or assigned.

Compensation

Annual salary or hourly range $52,000-$60,000 commensurate with experience and skillset.




Who You Are & Keys To Success

  1. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  2. 3+ years of experience in HR with a focus on benefits administration, recruitment, onboarding, and training administration.
  3. Comprehensive knowledge of employee benefits plans, programs, and compliance requirements.
  4. Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication, and interpersonal skills.
  5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  6. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  7. Experience working with HRIS and other HR-related software.
  8. Knowledge of HR laws and regulations.
  9. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  10. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  11. Demonstrate the ability to communicate and effectively interact with people across cultures, ranges of ability, genders, ethnicities, and races.
  12. Strong ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and facilitate projects to their completion.
  13. Willingness to subscribe to the philosophy of the Girl Scout program and joining as a Girl Scout member which includes paying a membership fee, either annually or as a life-time member.
  14. Valid driver's license, a driving record that meets the requirements for coverage of the council's business auto insurance carrier and have automobile insurance limits that follow the council's business auto insurance requirements.

  1. Paylocity proficiency
  2. Any experience as a trainer or facilitator
  3. DEI training, coursework, and/or certification
  4. SHRM-CP Certification or equivalent
