About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Lead Control Management Officer to support our Financial Crimes Operations utility (FCO) group. This position, sitting within the Chief Operating Office Control Management group, will partner with executive management to define and deliver initiatives and programs across front lines and build relationships with a wide variety of senior leaders and enterprise partners across all business groups to help develop and maintain a strong control environment leading to the early identification and sustainable mitigation of risk.

In this role, you will:
  • Act as an advisor to more experienced leaders in developing risk mitigation strategies for complex and highly integrated business specific risk associated with the FCO
  • Partner with the FCO and facilitate risk-based initiatives such as the Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSA) and Enterprise Risk Identification and Assessments (ERIA)
  • Monitor, measure, evaluate, and report impact of decisions and business controls to the relevant business group and enterprise function
  • Lead and mentor others within FCO Control Management team
  • Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex current and emerging risks requiring in depth evaluation across multiple areas or the enterprise, as well as good understanding of financial crimes, operational risk, audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, IT systems security, and business process management
  • Provide vision, direction, and expertise to more experienced leaders on implementing innovative and significant business solutions for complex risks associated with financial crimes
  • Engage with all levels of roles across the business group, and serve as an experienced advisor in designing and implementing risk mitigation strategies, business processes, and controls that mitigate risks and address regulatory requirements
Required Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of Risk Management or Financial Services Industry experience, or equivalent experience demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of BSA/AML regulations
  • Strong ability to identify risks requiring controls and demonstrated expertise at designing, implementing and monitoring effectiveness of controls
  • Experience in supporting a business as a Control partner with strong ability to influence stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline driven environment
  • Strong expertise with RCSA methodologies, frameworks and routines
  • Demonstrates the ability to make subjective and informed decisions based upon output and justify decision making
  • Ability to analyze, problem solve with demonstrated excellence at driving decisions
  • Experience with Issue Management life cycle and Change Management
  • A strong history and business knowledge in the financial services sector with subject-matter expertise as it pertains to business functions
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing, and communications skills with an ability to interact effectively with all levels of management
  • Experience in designing and monitoring controls, risk mitigation and experience with Shared Risk Platform (SHRP)
  • Strong experience working with Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with Operating Committee Executive level reporting
  • A BS/BA degree or higher
  • Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (ACAMS) certification

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
