About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Control Management Officer for the Business Control Programs Team supporting the Investment Solutions Center of Excellence in Wealth and Investment Management (WIM). The Investment Solutions Center of Excellence (IS COE) offers investment expertise, solutions, and product offerings.

The Investment Solutions COE includes Investment Strategy and Research, Investment Products, Trading and Capital Markets, Managed Solutions and Investment Implementation, WIM Investment Risk, and Corporate Plans Investment teams. The IS COE Control Team is responsible for supporting business leaders in effective risk identification, measurement, monitoring, controls and mitigation. The team monitors and assesses the operating and control environment on an ongoing basis.

In this role, you will:
  • Perform the Risk and Control Self-Assessment including initial and re-execution for IS COE Business Units, including roles as a Business Control Management and/or Facilitation Support Team member
  • Work with the business and subject matter experts to design and document controls including evaluating control effectiveness
  • Partner with Compliance to identify existing or write new controls related to regulatory requirements and Major Requirement Evaluations (MREs)
  • Lead complex initiatives designed to mitigate current and emerging risks with broad impact
  • Act as key participant in monitoring, evaluating, and measuring the impact of decisions practiced in Control Management functional area
  • Monitor moderately complex business specific programs, and provide risk management consulting to support the business in designing and implementing risk-mitigation strategies
  • Monitor, measure, evaluate, and report on the impact of decisions and controls to the relevant business group or functional area
  • Develop and implement risk monitoring and risk reporting processes and controls
  • Collaborate with relevant business group to identify current and emerging risks associated with business activities and operations, and provide guidance in developing and implementing risk-mitigating strategies
  • Lead Control Management project or virtual teams
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of Risk Management or Control Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
  • Investment Solutions or Wealth and Investment Management Business Experience preferred.
  • Excellent technical, analytical, and communication skills. Must be an effective communicator with both individual contributors and senior management.
  • A successful candidate will have a strong work ethic and be results oriented.
  • Meaningful knowledge of the enterprise risk management framework and Risk and Control Self-Assessment is helpful.
Job Expectations:
  • Execute RCSA for Investment Solutions and any other Risk Assessable Units as assigned.
  • Act as the Business Control Manager for RCSA workshops. Perform pre-work associated with the BCM role, provide support and challenge during the workshop, and care for takeaways post-workshop. (e.g. gaps requiring SHRP issues)
  • Maintain the Investment Solutions Center of Excellence Control Inventory, including control design, assessment, and maintenance.
  • Analyze and disposition Business Environment Changes in partnership with the rest of the team.
  • Coordinate Risk Program activities for Enterprise Risk Identification and Assessment, Self-Assurance, and other risk programs as needed.
