Controller

Robert Half is filling a Controller job opening which will have broad business engagement and impact. This Controller position is for candidates who can manage the process to ensure that models are correct and are fully accrued each month, verify and hold the operations team accountable to ensure end to end incentive processing, payments, accounting and related financial controls are operating effectively. Based in Monticello, Minnesota, this Controller position will be a long-term contract / temporary engagement. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a very dynamic and high profile area with significant visibility at executive management level.

Major responsibilities

- Collaborate with various business partners to complete month-end close processes, financial statements, management reporting, audits, and budgeting.

- Continuous review of actual spend against budget and lead necessary actions needed for any expected shortfalls

- Reach understanding of key financial results and movements across programs to summarize and discuss with key business partners

- Collaborate with the Treasury to provide timely cash flow forecasts

- Attain a thorough understanding of essential financial results and movements across programs, then be able to summarize and discuss them with key business partners

Direct budgeting, reporting, and forecasting processes and tools for all accountable programs

- Exquisite understanding in office and accounting computer systems

- ERP system knowledge required

- Month end closings experience required

- Experience with Direct Supervision for AP and AR

- Monthly Financial Statements experience required

- Proven knowledge of budget forecasting

- Foundational knowledge in financial analysis

- Proficiency in management reporting

- Ability to manage, lead change and build process improvements

- Aptitude for communication and negotiation, building trusted advisor/consultant relationships and influencing Executives and Business Decision Makers

- Professional accounting and controllership or public accounting and internal controls experience and/or Internal Audit or Controls and Compliance

- Top notch analytical, organizational, and vendor management skills

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or other relevant field

- CPA and/or CMA preferred
