The University seeks faculty skilled in the scholarship of teaching and the discovery, application, and integration of knowledge. Successful candidates will demonstrate an ability to lead an active research program, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, and mentor student research. All areas of research expertise will be considered, but candidates in experience in physiological psychology/neuroscience, human factors, or applied statistics are preferred. Teaching assignments will include general psychology, research methods, physiological psychology, and undergraduate/graduate coursework in area of expertise. Candidates will be expected to contribute to graduate training in an applied experimental MA and PhD program through mentorship of student research and directing theses and dissertations. USD is a doctoral-granting public institution that enrolls more than 10,000 students in five schools and colleges including Arts and Sciences, Education, Fine Arts, Law and Medicine. Located in Vermillion, SD along the Missouri River, USD is less and an hour from two metropolitan areas (Sioux Falls, SD and Sioux City, IA). USD has a special commitment to building strong relationships with the 13 tribal communities within our state and region. The Department of Psychology is home to two undergraduate majors (Psychology and Neuroscience) and two graduate programs (Clinical Psychology and Human Factors Psychology). The clinical training program also houses the Disaster Mental Health Institute, which delivers an undergraduate minor, a graduate track within Clinical Psychology, and a graduate certificate in Disaster Mental Health Response. Qualifications: Ph.D. in Psychology (ABD will be considered). Salary/Compensation: This is a 9-month position, salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
