The Unity Developer is responsible for building virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) simulations and applications for various target platforms based on the Unity framework. Primary responsibilities will be to implement project functionality, translating design ideas, concepts, and requirements into a functional and engaging experience. A commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and a quality product are essential.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Work as part of a team using Unity and related software tools to produce VR simulations and applications
- Participate in designing VR experiences and produce program code for those designs
- Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code
- Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
- Work with subject matter experts to ensure accuracy of all materials
- Stay current with the latest VR development trends, techniques, and software
- Track and record hours worked on each project
- Maintain other documentation as necessary for duties and responsibilities outlined above
- Follow safety rules and promote safe behavior.
- Help identify unsafe working conditions and notify supervisor or Office of Safety.
- Ensure the safety policies and procedures are being followed.
- Report incidents and near misses to supervisor or Office of Safety within 24 hours.
- Complete all required safety and other mandatory training requirements.
- Associates Degree.
- Experience with VR and/or AR development using the Unity game engine, including coding in C#/JavaScript.
- Experience working with 3D elements and environments, and building interactive user experiences.
- A portfolio of work must be provided at or before an interview.
- Successful completion of a criminal history background check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Experience with the HTC Vive Pro and or Valve Index.
- Visual design skills and experience, including 2D/3D illustration & animation.
- Instructional design.
- Aviation experience.
