Position Information

Provide academic support services to student-athletes at North Dakota State University. Academic support responsibilities include: working with at-risk students, monitoring for academic progress and eligibility, referring to campus-wide academic services, developing academic intervention plans for students. Requires extensive collaboration with coaches, faculty members, campus support services and academic advisors to ensure student-athletes are in NCAA academic compliance. Other duties include acting as an advocate for student-athletes, identifying academically successful students for recognition and or awards, and conducting NCAA required exit interviews. Meeting with athletic recruits and talking about support services. Program developing and implementing the student development program, summer bridge programming and overseeing the SAAC program. The coordinator must maintain an understanding of NCAA rules and regulations, especially those related to academics. The Coordinator will work under the direction of the Director of Athletic Academics and will be part of a team of academic support staff in athletics.

Screening Date: April 13, 2023

Salary: $41,000.00 +/year

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Work experience in a college environment
  • Demonstrate ability to plan and execute educational programing
  • Demonstrate understanding of development needs of student-athletes
  • Experience with individual student support and development
  • Ability to collaborate closely with diverse populations and constituencies
  • Computer skills
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree
  • Direct Experience with academic support and education programing for college student athletes
  • Knowledge of NCAA academic rules
