Position Information

The Upper Great Plains Transportation Institute invites applications for the Office Coordinator position with our Advanced Traffic Analysis and Department of Transportation Support Center programs in our Fargo office on the North Dakota State University campus. The UGPTI offers an exciting opportunity to support researchers, faculty, students, and professional development in activities that focus on transportation. The candidate seeking to join our team for this position will be involved in a wide range of administrative and student service activities and tasks. This individual will have the opportunity to utilize his/her strengths in contributing to the successes of UGPTI, our faculty, staff, and students in the area of administration and student services. Exceptional communication and organizational skills are essential. Specific responsibilities include:
  • General office tasks to include travel reimbursement, time slips, and department credit card maintenance.
  • Provide administrative support to the program director, staff and students of ATAC and DOTSC.
  • Assists program director and staff in completing all budgeting, payroll, and financial activities for ATAC and DOTSC finances.
  • Perform office receptionist responsibilities along with coordination of ATAC and DOTSC communications and marketing.
  • Perform routine general office duties for UGPTI to include library maintenance, office supplies, copier inventory, departmental telephones cell phone maintenance, incoming and outgoing mail, key maintenance, state fleet coordinator, visitor pass maintenance, PAC coordinator, process alumni requests for reimbursement, among other administrative tasks.
  • Assist with scheduling and coordination of program meetings and events.
  • Coordinate student travel and reimbursement, student activities and actions.

Work Schedule:

Full Time - Benefitted (32 hours a week)

Starting Salary: $22.00-$25.00 per hour

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Two-year degree and at least 3 years of job experience in a least one of the broad range of disciplines including communications, education, business, and/or any related fields, will be considered.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications:
  • B.S. Degree in one of the fields named above.
  • Experience working in academia, with faculty and students.
  • Experience with Campus Connection and PeopleSoft (HRMS, Finance)

Upper Great Plains Transportation Institute

The Upper Great Plains Transportation Institute (UGPTI) is a research, education, and outreach center at North Dakota State University which is guided, in part, by an advisory council composed of representatives of various organizations, industries, and agencies affecting or affected by transportation.
