UW Transportation Services is a department within Facilities Planning and Management (FP&M) on the UW-Madison campus. We serve a variety of customers with a diverse set of parking and transportation needs.

Transportation Services is responsible for the coordination and administration of all transportation-related services for the UW campus community. Primary functions include the sale/management of parking permits, special event coordination, maintenance and enforcement, construction coordination, lot and booth operations, citation payments and appeals, information technology, financial, transportation planning, and development of multimodal options.


About the Parking Enforcement Supervisor (Field Services Supervisor) position:

This position is a part of our Transportation Services department with in Facilities Planning and Management Division at UW-Madison. This position would assist the Permits manager in the daily administration of the permits process and assist Customer Service by answering phone calls and emails. The Administrative Specialist is also responsible for a variety of professional level work across a variety of administrative service areas including budget, finance, procurement, and human resources with impact across the institution in support of unit or institutional goals. The Administrative Specialist will manage the permit inventory control system, provide administrative support, and analyzes data and trends, compiles progress reports, and provides appropriate recommendations or conclusions in support of the assigned operational work unit(s)


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for a variety of professional level work across a variety of administrative service areas including budget, finance, procurement, and human resources with impact across the institution in support of unit or institutional goals.

  • 20% Implements and executes established policies and procedures for a designated work unit to adhere to unit objectives and to align with established strategies
  • 20% Schedules logistics and secures resources for a designated work unit to contribute to the day-to-day operational success
  • 25% Analyzes data and trends, compiles progress reports, and provides appropriate recommendations or conclusions in support of the assigned operational work unit(s)
  • 10% Assists, recommends, and advises staff on unit or program administrative issues, personnel matters, and budgetary problems
  • 5% Serves on committees and attends meetings, representing the interests of the unit or program
  • 5% Determine inventory needs by researching previous/current year trends/usage, remaining inventory, analyzing costs/benefits of previous and current products used, and compiling new permit policy and construction impacts.
  • 5% Manage the permit inventory control system. Allocate all permits into T2 Flex permit system, ensuring all permits received are inventoried and coded accurately. Manage department/vendor/reserved/restricted/monthly permit processes.
  • 5% Provide administrative support to all Transportation Services units as needed to support Department goals. Serve as primary backup to Permits Manager and as a liaison to Finance, Customer Service, TDM and other TS units.
  • 5% Guides and trains staff and student workers, including the permit fulfillment and student parking
  • processes.


It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.

- 2 years of administrative experience

- 2 years of providing customer service to a diverse group

- experience with Microsoft Office Suite (excel, outlook, word, etc

Drivers License - Valid and Meets UW Risk Management Standards

SALARY:

Minimum $60,000 ANNUAL (12 months)

Depending on Qualifications

The minimum hourly rate for this position is $28.85 an hour (salary of $60,000 per year), but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
