THE ROLE

The company is actively recruiting for a VP of Investor Relations who has proven track record of success. The VP of Investor Relations reports to the Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for the strategy and implementation of investor relations and public relations activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

??? The successful candidate will be a proactive, self-starter and will be the primary investor relations contact for the company.

??? Lead the investor relations efforts of the company through the consistent and timely development of business analysis and investor communications.

??? Identify and recommend opportunities for refining and articulating the value proposition of the company.

??? Define and refine key messages and incorporate these messages across various mediums

??? Consistently communicate key messages to the investment community in the form of clear and thoughtful press releases, investor presentations, conference call scripts and website content

??? Display a thorough knowledge and understanding of company markets, market drivers, supply/demand trends, peer business performance and financial expectations

??? Utilize existing analytical tools and/or create new tools/analyses to support company's investment thesis

??? Identify and proactively target highest potential investors conducive to the company's strategy, defining business characteristics and appeal to investment styles

??? Establish relationships with present and potential investors.

??? Lead meetings with these parties both with and without management in attendance

??? Serve as the primary day-to-day point of contact for the investment community.

??? Communications should convey strategic direction and business plans and build confidence in management and company strategy

??? Lead quarterly earnings preparation process, including script drafting and Q&A

??? Responsible for leveraging internal and external resources to compile data efficiently

??? Consistently and on an ongoing basis, prepare the management teams for interactions with the investment community

??? Partner with the CEO and outside PR firm to optimize communications and coordinate communication plans

??? Serve as a source of competitive and market intelligence for management teams

??? This includes keeping the pulse of industry and peer news and trends, as well as understanding the impact that these and other macroeconomic financial analyses on key competitors and cultivate a thorough and detailed understanding of consensus earnings estimates, including all sell-side analyst


SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

??? Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution

??? Minimum of five years of investor relations experience with a public company, or working for a research firm or institutional investment firm.

??? Experience in, and advanced understanding of the Mining, Minerals, Natural Resources, or Chemical sector.

??? Strong intellectual curiosity, analytical skills and financial aptitude

??? Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex information and each companies' value proposition concisely

??? Professional presence with the ability to remain composed, think clearly under pressure and answer detailed questions

??? Strategic thinking and a willingness to freely share opinions with management

??? Strong leadership and problem-solving skills

??? Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; must be self-motivated

??? Ability to travel as needed to investor conferences and on marketing trips

??? Highly organized with thorough attention to detail

??? Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion ??? Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.
