Job ID: 22544 Agency: Department of Social Services/South Dakota Human Services Center/Laundry Location: Yankton Salary: $13.76 per hour, DOE Pay Grade: GC Closing Date: Open Until Filled This is a part-time position with the Department of Social Services at the South Dakota Human Services Center, Yankton, SD. Summary: This position acts as a lead worker over inmate workers in specific areas of laundry operation, such as washer and dryer operation, laundry folding, stocking, and filling orders. This position will perform, assign, and monitor all types of laundry work. This position will also train, supervise, and work alongside inmate workers. This position primarily works Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m., but may vary according to needs of facility. Licenses and Certifications: This position will drive a vehicle to pick up and deliver laundry; therefore, a driver's license is required. The Ideal Candidate Will Have: Knowledge of: occupational hazards in an institutional laundry and of necessary safety precautions; principles of inventory control; approved methods and practices of laundering linens, uniforms, and other institutional laundry. Ability to: understand and apply written and oral instructions; maintain records and prepare reports; plan, organize, schedule, and direct the work of others. This position is eligible for Veterans' Preference per ARSD 55:10:02:08. Successful applicant(s) will be required to undergo a background investigation.
