POSITION DESCRIPTION

North Dakota State University is seeking two full-time, 9-month Lecturer/Assistant Professor of Practice/Assistant Professor positions in Bismarck, ND to teach, coordinate clinical rotations, and other teaching responsibilities as assigned by the associate dean of the School of Nursing. Develop clinical activities and rotations for nursing students in contracted inpatient and community settings.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Coordinate and/or teach as assigned by the Director of NDSU Nursing at Sanford Health.
  • Courses in this position will include:

Position 1 : Nurs 303 (online)-fall/Professional nursing; Nurs 450 teach one section of clinical (teach course and clinical starting fall 2024); one lab section of Nurs 323 (fall); one clinical (Spring /OB experience preferred); co-teach Nurs 463 Leadership & Interprofessional Health Care (spring); assist with simulation activities.

Position 2 : Nurs 323 Skills and Concepts for Nursing (fall); teach one section of Nur 323 lab (fall); one clinical (Medical Surgical); assist with the grading of Nurs 362 clinical (spring); co-teach Nurs 463 Leadership & Interprofessional Health Care (spring); assist with simulation activities.
  • Using the College workload formula as a guide, additional teaching responsibilities will be incorporated into the position based on School of Nursing needs.
  • Develop clinical learning activities and rotations for nursing students in contracted in-patient and community settings.
  • Serve as an academic adviser for post-baccalaureate accelerated pre-nursing BSN students as assigned by the School of Nursing.
  • Serve on at least one School Committee and optionally one College or University Committee.
  • Participate in curriculum development and ongoing program improvement through assessment activities, and quality improvement strategies.
  • Participate in any special projects or activities as assigned by the Director of NDSU Nursing at Sanford Health or the Dean of the College of Health Professions.

This contract is contingent upon funding and lab experiences being offered by the assigned clinical site or organization. In the event that such funding or experiences is no longer available, NDSU School of Nursing reserves the right to cancel this contract with little or no notice.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's degree in Nursing or BSN with a graduate degree in a related field;
  • Two years' experience in adult health;
  • Active or Eligible for RN licensure in North Dakota;
  • Excellent oral and written communication and collaboration skills;

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Doctoral degree;
  • Graduate or undergraduate teaching experience;
  • Experience teaching at the baccalaureate nursing level.
