Purpose of Position

This internship is to provide accounting experiences to a UND Accounting student in the following areas of fund management:
• Account/Fund Reconciliations
• Federal Reporting Reconciliation Preparation
• Federal Loan/Private Loan Monthly Reconciliations
• Special projects as needed

Duties & Responsibilities
  • 100% - Reconciliations/Fund Management (External Scholarship Checks, Private Student Loans, HRSA Loan Programs, Open Door Scholarship, General Scholarship) • Assist in reconciliation of other financial aid funds. • Identify discrepancies and coordinate with appropriate staff. • Assist in preparing weekly financial aid fiscal reports for the Student Finance Director Federal Fiscal Year End Report Generation Assistance and Audit Preparation • FISAP Preparation • All HRSA (Nursing and Med Loan Reporting) • Assist with data collection for federal, internal, and state audits. Data analysis, trend forecasting and other duties as assigned. • Analyze fund balance trends and make recommendations on proper fund management. • Work with current fund managers and assist as needed. • Other duties as assigned by Director of Student Finance - (Essential)

Minimum Requirements

• Advanced skills using Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Successful completion of a criminal history background check. Preferred Qualifications

• Have had training and/or proven work history on Lean methodology and/or continuous process improvement
• Experience with Student Admin module PeopleSoft.
• Experience using Perceptive Content (ImageNow).
• Experience with UND policies and procedures.
• Educational background or professional experience with governmental/fund accounting.
