Job Details

Essential Responsibilities
  • Project engineering
  • Prepare engineering designs
  • Evaluation of alternative designs
  • Selection of final design based on total cost of ownership
  • Develop budgets, schedules and justifications for projects
  • Manage engineering design consultants
  • Prepare project specifications for bidding purposes

  • Project management
  • Project budgeting
  • Acquisition of labor and material resources through the procurement process
  • Contractor management
  • Construction planning, coordination, inspection, and quality control
  • Startup and testing
  • Prepare and conduct project training for operations and maintenance
  • Complete the project records
  • Complete project closeout
  • Ensure coordination of efforts between different departments, organizations and vendors

  • Perform comprehensive studies within assigned areas of responsibility
  • Identify areas for improvement that reduce total cost of ownership
  • Evaluate and test equipment

    Job Qualification Standards

    Education and Training

    Position requires, at minimum, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university and EIT certification.

    Must maintain a valid driver’s license.

    Experience
    • This is either an entry level engineering position with no past work experience or an experienced level position.

    Physical demands:  While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is primarily required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, bend and frequently utilize a keyboard/computer. Specific vision abilities include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

    Mental demands: While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent will be required to problem solve, read, write and analyze data, work under schedules and deadline pressure, present information to others, work independently and use discretion and judgment for confidential or sensitive projects/issues.

    Work Environment: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is exposed to an office environment indoors, and will travel outdoors to multiple locations dependent on work.
