Position Summary:

The Mortgage Marketing Specialist will be responsible for developing, planning, and executing all marketing functions to support Alerus' mortgage division. This position will work closely with other members of Mortgage and Marketing to execute a wide range of marketing functions, including communications, advertising, digital marketing, video production, social media planning and creation, and CRM management. She/he brings a strong desire to maintain Mortgage industry knowledge, marketing trends, and the division's initiatives. She/he is an organized multitasker - able to handle diverse projects and meet tight deadlines - focused on supporting the mortgage division's goals and marketing strategies.

Job Function 1: Digital and Traditional Marketing Activities - 70%
  • Responsible for the design, development, planning, and implementation of marketing programs and tools to support the mortgage division's objectives.
  • Develop and execute mortgage marketing strategy and in-market plan to drive predictable and sustainable marketing contribution to pipeline and revenue for the mortgage business line.
  • Develop and coordinate mortgage email programs to support sales and marketing campaigns; set up, test, and send email campaigns, and assist with database management.
  • Manage, maintain, and improve mortgage marketing automation journeys. Proactively research and implement the best practices, strategies, and industry standards.
  • Support individual Mortgage Bankers and teams with digital strategy and creating varied mediums of content, including graphics, video, photos, blog posts, etc.
  • Manage and execute mortgage specific events to support the mortgage division.
  • Design and coordinate placement of approved ads with the appropriate print media for Mortgage Bankers.
  • Utilize marketing methods to support the promotion of mortgage with outside referral sources, internal partners, and past clients.
  • Executes on various marketing activities which may include planning and creating social media content and campaigns, coordinating advertising placements and creation of ads, market research, product marketing, designing, and coordinating direct marketing and/or communications to support the mortgage division.

Job Function 2: CRM, Website, and Other Technology - 15%
  • Manage, maintain, and update the mortgage banker microsites in collaboration with the marketing team.
  • Manage, maintain, and update the individual mortgage banker websites, ensuring all web content follows current SEO best practices and is also ADA compliant.
  • Manage and maintain individual mortgage bankers' Google Business Profile and other recommendation websites, including monitoring and responding to reviews or comments.
  • Leverage database marketing efforts by effectively utilizing current CRM to distribute company generated opportunities and report on leads and results from marketing campaigns.

Job Function 3: Team Collaboration and Training - 15%
  • Proactively gather feedback and provide stakeholder visibility and alignment on mortgage marketing plans, event calendars, and expected results.
  • Train and mentor mortgage loan officer assistant team to maximize various marketing technologies, including CRM, Total Expert, Google Business Profile, social media platforms, etc.
  • Ensures proper marketing assets are reviewed and maintained for compliance.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal marketing team and resources to attain business line objectives while ensuring alignment with overarching brand and messaging.

Position Requirements:

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, or communications.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of work experience within the mortgage industry preferred.
  • Prior experience in a marketing role, mortgage industry preferred.
  • Knowledge of traditional and digital marketing, content marketing, and social media marketing.
  • Excellent punctuation, grammar, and language skills.
  • Familiarity with content management systems (CMS).
  • Familiarity with client relationship management systems (CRM).
  • Past work experience as a marketing coordinator or similar role preferred.
  • Working knowledge of HTML and past experience with design and email software is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Adobe, Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign is strongly preferred.

Physical Demands - Must be met with or without a reasonable accommodation
  • Extended periods of time sitting at a desk and using office equipment.
  • Ability to operate a personal computer/laptop for approximately 8 hours per day.
  • Extended time is spent reviewing physical and electronic documents.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
  • Periodically, may also do light lifting of supplies and materials which weighs in at approximately 20 lbs.
  • Will spend most of time in an indoor environment.
