The position of Senior Accountant acts as a Lead for certain general accounting functions, and has an emphasis on month-end close activities, intercompany and consolidations, and financial reporting and analysis. This role will also be involved with the implementation and maintenance of a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk, enhance accuracy of the company's reported financial results and ensure that results are in accordance with GAAP.

How do I make an impact on my team?

Prepare monthly internal and board financial statements. Run monthly department statements and distribute to department leaders.
Prepare and enter journal entries for various transactions at Navitus related to investments, fixed assets, and accruals
Review and approve various month-end close entries
Perform variance analysis of financial data
Coordinate and lead all year-end financial audit deliverables
Coordinate and lead capital project accounting
Oversee fixed asset administration
Maintain charts of accounts for multiple entities including ensuring accounts are mapped to correct financial statement line items and parent general ledger accounts
Assist with preparation of various state and federal tax filing requirements
Coordinate and prepare all business insurance renewals requirements
Develop and prepare annual finance departmental budget
Serve as functional accounting department expert with respect to functional areas named, mentor and teach accounting functionality to other accounting staff

What our team expects from you?

A Bachelor's Degree required (preferably in Accounting).
CPA strongly preferred.
A minimum five years of accounting experience is required
A minimum of one-year experience in public accounting or two years in a technical accounting role in a corporate setting is required
Advanced Excel skills including demonstrated proficiency with VLOOKUP, SUMIF and CONCATENATE formulas as well as pivot tables are required
Experience with accounting software (Microsoft Great Plains preferred).
Experience in the health care industry preferred
Participate in, adhere to, and support compliance program objectives
The ability to consistently interact cooperatively and respectfully with other employees
