SUMMARY
The Cost Account/Pricing Analyst conducts & analyzes cost audits to determine costs of business activity, including but not limited to, raw material purchases, inventory, labor and overhead and SG&A rates. Analyzes data and prepares management reports. Analysis includes review of design changes, raw materials, production processes or services provided to determine effects on cost. Utilizing this data, preparing & analyzing pricing models and supporting the pricing teams on all proposals in response to RFQ's.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
Create and review the controls needed for data accumulation and reporting systems.
Supporting the pricing team including validating the pricing model and templates
Update standard costs in the bill of materials
Review standard and actual costs for inaccuracies
Validate the cost of goods sold as part of the month-end close
Accumulate and apply overhead costs as required by generally accepted accounting principles
Work with the materials review board to locate and dispose of obsolete inventory
Conduct ongoing process constraint analyses
Report on breakeven points by products, work centers, and factories
Report on margins by product and division
Report on periodic variances and their causes, focusing in particular on spending variances
Perform cost accumulation tasks as a member of the target costing group

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in accounting and three or more years of experience. Experience with DoD cost accounting and pricing a plus.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedural documentation. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to write clearly and informatively; edit work for spelling and grammar; able to read and interpret written information.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of processing, organizing and editing documentation. Understanding of electronic file conversion and storage. Should be self-directed and able to perform their work-related duties with minimal supervision. Ability to read and interpret technical documents. Proficient with Microsoft applications, in particular Excel.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
