We are currently growing our North America team and are seeking an EHS & Training Manager to join our talented Litchfield, MN Team!

Lead North American Environmental Health Safety (EHS) and Training function to ensure compliance and strong skilled operations talent development programs. Direct the design, implementation, and maintenance of sound EHS principles, to ensure injury prevention and safe facilities for employees. Set training and development strategy to ensure strong training processes, programs, systems, and metrics that align with our EHS principles and improve employee capabilities.



Role & Responsibility

  • Assess North American employee's and our facility's values, skills, culture, and organization structure to develop strategies and procedures to include:
    • Safety: corporate safety, plant safety, equipment safety processes, reduction of Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR), Lost Time Incident Rate (LTIR), compliance (e.g., Respiratory Safety, Lock-out, Tag-out, OSHA), including inspections by regulatory agencies.
    • Training: Production skills related training, production systems, processes, and leadership training. Strengthen retention metrics impacted through training, assure ready workforce to enable quality and production metrics.
  • Develop EHS and training strategic objectives/metrics for ensuring operational excellence and achieving strategic results.
  • Emphasis on EHS Management System governanceraining, strategic planning, proactive risk mitigation, incident reduction, compliance, safety system effectiveness, and case management
  • Drive training metrics to achieve desired skill, competency, and management development.
  • Develop and implement ergonomics improvement strategies.
  • Evaluate and adopt new technologies to improve EHS performance.
  • Drive collaboration and synergy between EHS and training, promote a strong EHS and training culture across sites, and develop consistency across sites where feasible.
  • Collaborate with local and executive leaders to build partnerships and ensure the implementation of training and EHS systems.
  • Ensure proper processes, procedures and training are in place and followed to mitigate risk.
  • Lead corporate NA EHST Council
  • Lead and develop a team of safety, ergonomic, occupational health, and training professionals.
  • Provide a learning environment and encourage continuous improvement through safety education and training for all employees.


Job Requirement

  • Degree: Bachelor in Business Administration, Industrial Engineer, Environmental Science and/or related degree or required experience accepted.
  • Travel Requirement: 25-50%
  • 10+ years' experience within the EHS and/or training
  • Safety/Environmental/Training Management experience in a Manufacturing Environment preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Environmental, Occupational Health, regulations (OSHA/EPA)
  • Business acumen and analytic capabilities.
  • Ability to leverage data to develop and execute strategy.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and ability to challenge the status quo and improve upon existing processes.
  • Experience building and managing high-performing multi-site teams with remote direct reports to deliver outstanding results, meeting timelines, holding accountability and performance management responsibilities.
  • Create and promote a culture of workplace safety in which people want to do their best; can motivate and empower individuals; invites input, shares ownership and visibility.
  • Provides clear direction; sets stretch objectives; distributes workload appropriately; establishes well-planned and organized expectations, processes, and results.
  • Proven ability to interact with and influence internal and external colleagues across different departments with varying priorities, communicating clearly and professionally.
  • Builds appropriate rapport across departments and with stakeholders; builds constructive and effective relationships; uses diplomacy and tact; can diffuse high-tension situations comfortably.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, under tight deadlines.
  • Highly motivated and proactive problem solver.
  • Excellent communication and collaborative skills, especially with a variety of audiences.
