Salary/Position Classification
This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.
The Communication Intern for the UND School of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science (SEECS) will be responsible for gathering departmental news, writing timely stories and articles, and collaborating with others to create unique content for the school. The successful candidate will be a skilled writer with strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team. Work in this position will help build student's professional portfolio.
Duties & Responsibilities
•Strong interpersonal skills are essential.
•Familiarity with social media and graphic design
Minimum Requirements
• The ideal candidate will be a student studying or experience in journalism, communications, or English and skilled in writing and editing. Familiarity with social media and graphic design is a plus. The Communication Intern will be expected to work closely with the department's faculty and staff and CEM marketing staff, as well as other members of the university community.
• This student position is in the UND School of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science.
• Successful completion of criminal history records check In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identityand eligibility to work in the US and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.This position does not support visa sponsorship for continued employment.

- Gathering news and information about the department and its faculty, staff, and students
- Writing clear and concise articles and stories about departmental events, research, and other newsworthy items
- Collaborating with others in the department to generate ideas and develop content for print and digital communication channels
- Ensuring that all content is accurate and up-to-date
- Managing the department's social media accounts, including posting updates and engaging with followers - (Essential)
