We are currently seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Part-Time Staff Accountant. In this role, you will be responsible for various accounting functions, including preparing sales invoices, processing vendor invoices and reconciling bank and credit card statements. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and assisting with month-end close procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

What You'll Do:

Prepare sales invoices to be sent to clients, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing.
Process vendor invoices for payment in the accounting system, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies and procedures.
Perform bank reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial transactions.
Review and process employee expense reimbursements, verifying supporting documentation and compliance with expense policies.
Enter time entries by client/project in the accounting system, maintaining detailed records for billing purposes.
Code credit card transactions and collect receipts, ensuring proper expense classification and documentation.
Assist with month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
Prepare month-end financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements.
Prepare client profitability reports.
Assist with quarterly sales tax submissions, ensuring compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.
Support ad hoc projects and initiatives as needed.

What You Bring:

Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant accounting software applications, Quickbooks Online a plus.
2-4 years of relevant experience, including exposure to public accounting.
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.

There will also be accounting work for our sister company, Stunt Puppy which is a small manufacturing and sales, direct to consumer brand, focused on active dogs and their owners.

Hourly Rate

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the hourly compensation range for this position is $26.50 - $33.50, exclusive of fringe benefits. Your compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer.

At times, there will be meetings that are essential for you to attend in person. We expect that when important in-person meetings occur, you will be in the office. On days when there isn't a need to be onsite, working from home is always an option.
